We are exploring how outdoor science and real world learning can help learners understand the fundamental concepts of science and sustainable development, and demonstrate practical methods of teaching and learning based on the outdoor classroom. We are developing guidance notes to support high quality outdoor learning.
We have produced draft mind maps of key big science ideas to support the guidance notes. Each mind map addresses one big science idea taken from the research on Planetary Boundaries by Johan Rockström (Stockholm Resilience Centre). This is a work in progress, and we are trailing the mind maps and using the results to write guidance notes. We welcome your feedback on how you might use these and how you incorporate Science into your teaching.
Please click here to view the mind maps and we would appreciate if you could also complete the survey below to aid us in our research.
